The Brewers jumped on Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto early Monday night, and their Game 2 win gives them a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. Teams are historically 8-51 when trailing 2-0 in the League Championship Series. Milwaukee will get a night off before the series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday.
In the late game, the Guardians waited out Rays starter Drew Rasmussen and then went after the Tampa Bay bullpen, winning Game 1 of the ALCS 7-3.
Both pennant winners advanced through a tough path. The Dodgers eliminated the Braves, the Brewers beat the Padres, the Rays knocked out the Yankees, and the Guardians escaped the White Sox. The Astros, Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies were already eliminated in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.
